Promote your skills on LinkedIn
You have unique skills people want
Did you know that Google indexes your skills on LinkedIn? If a recruiter is looking for a specific skill set and you’ve included those skills in your 'Skills and Expertise' sections, you’re going to rank higher in the search results and it’s more likely that you’ll be discovered.
With 93% of recruiters utilising LinkedIn before making hiring decisions, if you haven’t addressed the skill section, you are putting yourself at a huge disadvantage and missing out on career opportunities.

Social Check Recommends:
1. Review industry leaders’ profiles
Look at the profiles of leaders in your industry, what skills have they selected or have been endorsed for? Are there any that you may have overlooked and can add to your profile? If yes, great. If not, this may give you a guide as to what skills you need to develop.
2. What skills should you list?
How do you pick your skills? The definition of a skill is "a particular category of abilities necessary to acquire a job". Think about those skills most important to you as a professional in your industry. Be sure to include both soft and hard skills. Soft skills are the personal attributes needed for success on the job, such as good communication skills, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Hard skills are attributes that are easy to quantify, such as being proficient in another language or having a degree. Make sure you think about your skills in these two categories, in relation to your current role.
