1. Build your network
You can send free messages from within LinkedIn Groups to key contacts you wish to reach out to. Be sure to use this as an opportunity to build your professional network.
2. Follow the leaders in your industry
Look at the Groups that colleagues and leaders in your industry are joining.
3. Search for LinkedIn Groups
There are two ways to find LinkedIn Groups. The first is using the general search box, by selecting the drop down and clicking on 'Groups'. Type the keywords associated with your area of interest and suggested groups (related to that keyword) will then appear.
The second way to find Groups is to hover your mouse over your ‘Interests’ tab on your homepage and select ‘Groups’, then select the ‘Find a Group’ link on the right side of the page. Proceed by typing in keywords to search.
4. Think carefully about the groups you join
The groups you join reflect your interests and speak to the values and beliefs you hold. So ensure that they align to your professional brand and the image you want to convey.
