Get credible recommendations on Linkedin
Let other people sing your praises
LinkedIn recommendations are endorsements or testimonials from people you have worked with or done business with over the years.
LinkedIn recommendations are valuable to potential customers, employers and recruiters because it gives them an independent reference before they even get in touch.
They provide you with a great opportunity to leverage your contacts and build your credibility.

Social Check Recommends:
1. How many recommendations should you aim to have?
Above all, a recommendation should be true and authentic. As a guide aim for 1 or 2 recommendations for each role you have had.
2. The right way to ask for a recommendation
Make it easy for someone to give you a recommendation. Provide a list of characteristics and achievements they might consider incorporating into the recommendation. Here's what you could include in a message to them:
- Your positive character traits (high-level of professionalism, high-energy, self-motivated, confident).
- Specific results that your services produced i.e. winning a new account, a deal that you got across the line, something that you worked on with the person you are sending this to.
3. Who should you ask to recommend you?
Don't request a recommendation from someone you don't know. Firstly, it looks unprofessional, and secondly, you want your recommendations to be from someone who is credible and trustworthy.
The more senior, influential and credible the individual, the better. Steer away from getting your peers to recommend you.
