Detail your achievements on LinkedIn
Use your achievements as a weapon
Your achievements have been hard earned and are unique to you. So, it is important to leverage them to maximise potential career opportunities.
The ‘Experience’ section on LinkedIn gives you the ability to show off your achievements. Use it to list your present and past job roles.
Within these listings you are able to provide a description of each role. You need to be strategic here and think carefully about how best to gain a potential clients or employer’s attention and also gain the trust and confidence of colleagues, customers etc. upfront.
Social Check Recommends:
1. Detail your accomplishments online
Your 'Experience' section on LinkedIn should tell your story. Use your achievements to go beyond your resume bullets to tell the reader something they don't know about you. Detail your top three accomplishments in each role, how you achieved them and what you took away from those experiences. This will help you stand out from other candidates and grab the recruiter or potential employer's attention.Use numbers wherever possible to illustrate the impact you have had whilst in your role, eg. Increased customer satisfaction by 15% over a six month period, or increased sales by 22% over the last financial year. These are clear and measurable outcomes and are a tangible benefit to a business.
2. Focus most attention on your most current job
People, whether that be business associates, colleagues, customers or recruiters will be most interested in your more recent roles. They want to get an understanding of you at this point in time. As you progress through your career you could look to have less and less detail in your earlier foundation roles.
